Some freebies from a co-worker. Vintage 60′s snow bird snow blower, Craftsman tractor
A co-worker said he had some “junk” for me, what he had was a 60′s Snow Bird snow blower with a briggs engine on it and a murray built craftsman tactor with a 12hp briggs. I’ll post a follow up on getting the Snow Bird running.

My friend just bought the same model snowbird that you own. We are having problems with the carb as well. We believe that we are missing some gov parts. Is there any way you can post a clip of the carb and gov thanks

Before a certain year there is (I think in the 50′s), but this one has the standard date code read out.

I got 60′s briggs to fire, just needs a carb kit now. The 12hp lives in the shed until I get a worthy home for it. And it was cranking slow because there is a metal bracket attached from the deck to the front frame, and because the tractor was resting on it because of no front wheels, it was grinding the pulley on it.

I think I’m gonna have to do this!

If I get it running before the next (if any) snow storm this year, I might have to try that!

It’ll be cool to see if that 1960 Briggs runs. That 12 HP sounds like it’s got lots of potential. It will live on under the hood of a more worthy tractor. lol!
By the way, what was making the 12 HP crank slower?

That Craftsman looks like it has a good motor, but is lame overall. But that Snow-Bird is awesome! I like that tilting mechanism for the chute, and you should try blowing snow in your face just because you can. Maybe wear a mask though.
